South Central Bank, Inc. is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Controller at the Operations Center in Glasgow, KY. The Controller is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The Controller assists the CFO in the daily operation of the accounting department. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year end audit preparation, month end close, regulatory reporting, franchise & property tax filings. The Controller acts as the administrator for Prologue accounting software

• Preparation of journal entries and closing the General Ledger monthly
• Reconciliation and review of various accounts
• Review of daily financial statements
• Assist and backup the CFO position
• Participate in budgeting process
• Assist internal auditors, examiners, and reviewers
• Fed Funds/Liquidity Management
• Assist accounting staff with general questions/procedures
• Preparation of various bank and holding company reports
• Quarterly preparation of Call Report and Bank Holding Company Report
• Assist with income tax return preparation
• Property tax returns
• Bank deposits tax return
• Summary of Deposits Survey
• Local Deposits Summary Report
• Sales Tax Returns

The Minimum Qualifications For The Position Are

• Accounting or finance degree required
• Management experience required
• Financial statement preparation required
• Thorough knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements
• Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• General ledger experience required
• Payroll and accounts payable experience preferred
• Reconciliation of accounts required
• Intermediate MS Excel spreadsheet and MS Word experience required
• Good communication, problem solving, organizational and analytical skills
• Good interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external customers
• Attention to detail - approaches work in a meticulous, thorough, and detailed manner.
• Deadline-oriented, must have the ability to meet deadlines and juggle multiple priorities.
• Confidential information handled with discretion
