POSITION SUMMARY:

The Educational & Clinical Development Trainer is a member of the Human Resources Training Department and will be responsible for assisting with the development and delivery of all company-wide trainings. The Educational & Clinical Development Trainer will leverage their extensive clinical knowledge and past experience to enhance the skills and expertise of South Coast staff. This position will inform creation of comprehensive training plans and curriculum that meet position, program, and contractual needs. The Educational & Clinical Development Trainer will also understand the objectives of outcomes and metrics that will result from training and consider ways to help staff deliver assessments and outcomes that improve overall client care for the agency. This position will also deliver engaging in-person trainings, manage and develop training schedules, and oversee all aspects of training and outcomes for their assigned programs. This position is to work in partnership with program supervisors in order to help the program attain high performance outcomes based on client care deliverables.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cultivate a culture of continuous learning and development at the individual, team, and organizational levels by delivering relevant clinical training to enhance people, processes, and performance.
  • Facilitate delivery of, but not limited to, evidence-based practices, clinical training, including therapeutic interventions, assessment methods, trauma-Informed services, and crisis management.
  • Assist the Associate Director in assessing training needs and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Attend and evaluate outside trainings, webinars, etc. from other organizations and determine appropriateness of bringing content to South Coast.
  • Develop and facilitate New Hire Training as well as all program-specific training for each new hire cohort.
  • Host in-service trainings on relevant topics, both company wide and program specific.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of new training initiatives that facilitate staff advancement.
  • Oversee training needs and requirements for assigned programs.
  • Serve as expert on requirements and daily processes and expectations of assigned programs.
  • Travel as needed to various programs to deliver in-person trainings and attend all required meetings.
  • As part of training plan development, establish and manage the training schedule for each individual program and organization as a whole.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Program Directors and Supervisors.
  • Evaluate organizational performance to ensure that training is meeting organizational needs and improving performance based on client outcomes, as well as softer skills for client success and satisfaction.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancement and best practices in the field, including specific laws and regulations regarding program compliance and outcomes based metrics for EBP’s. Assist in creating trainings to ensure programs are in compliance with all relevant requirements.
  • As a team, collaborate together in coordinating evidenced based trainings and certification programs, including grant funded trainings endeavors. (TF-CBT, EMDR, Round 3 Psychosis Training). The successful Educational & Clinical Development Trainer will be able to bring programs through certifications and enhance the level of certifications and outcomes in measurable ways.
  • Provide program training on clinical supervision and be available and capable of providing direct clinical supervision to Associates as needed or required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Strong clinical background, familiarity with program/contractual requirements/RFPs, and previous experience creating or leading trainings.
  • Possess expertise in critical areas for the agency, notably school-based programs, wraparound programs, and/or outpatient programs.
  • Have an excellent understanding of the job duties and expectations of each program position.
  • Openness and adaptability as the organization transitions into new avenues of revenue generation.
  • Good understanding of the business and financial aspects within the organization and how it informs staff development and training agendas.
  • Ability to think outside the box in curating curriculum that increases competency in pertinent categories.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Microsoft Outlook and familiar with current SCCS processes, such as My Evolve, etc.
  • Ability to remain organized, effectively manage time, and manage multiple projects at once.
  • Ability and desire to work collaboratively as a team and communicate effectively.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of various learning styles and training to “adult learners” and ability to adapt and create training methods accordingly.
  • Understand the intersection for training to metrics and outcomes and promote internal excellence to meet client needs.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Experience

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or related field
  • LCSW, LMFT, LPCC or other similar license
  • Two years of relevant experience post-licensure
  • Previous experience creating or leading trainings

Licensure, Registration, Certification

  • Active license with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as an LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or similar.

Salary Description$76,303 - $97,955
