Certified Locksmith in the State of Florida
Knowledge, Skills & CompetenciesBUSINESS/SUPERVISORY Basic management principles and supervisory skills
Knowledge and ability to interpret Center policies and procedures
Considerable knowledge of the occupational hazards and the local, state and federal rules and regulations
Supervise the work of program staff and to assist them as needed in the proper work methods and procedures
Ability to plan, organize and direct staff
WRITTEN & VERBAL COMMUNICATIONSAbility to follow oral and written instructions
Skilled at keeping accurate records and preparing reports
Proficiency establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff and co-workers
LICENSEMust maintain a valid Florida Driver License during the duration of employment
FUNCTIONAL, SPECIALIZED & TECHNICALExtensive knowledge of tools, equipment, mechanical trades, practices of the trades and materials of the facilities
Considerable knowledge of construction and maintenance of buildings
Expertise in preventative maintenance procedures and techniques
Knowledge and clear understanding of all OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines
Familiarity with floor care equipment
WORKING CONDITIONSUsually work indoors, but may on occasion work outdoors repairing foundations and exteriors
Often required to wear protective attire, such as work gloves, leather apron, back support, and sturdy boots
Work in hazardous situations or with hazardous equipment. Injuries are possible from electrical shocks, cuts, or falls.
Often exposed to sounds and noises that are distracting and/or uncomfortable
Regularly works with contaminants such as oils, solvents, and paints
Often work in cramped places that require getting into awkward positions
Sometimes work in conditions of bright or inadequate lighting
ResponsibilitiesThis description is intended to describe the essential job functions and the essential requirements for the performance of this job. Supervision/Administration 40% Oversee all work being done to the Center’s buildings, equipment, and vehicles by assigned maintenance staff
Complete all routine paperwork on a daily basis
Upkeep maintenance logs and complete work orders in a timely manner
Provide on-going communication, through formal/informal meetings with support staff
Attend all supervisory and environmental /safety management meetings
Review department timesheets for accuracy and forward to payroll by due date
Conduct and complete performance evaluations on time
Monitor and provide staff development and in-service training
Ensure scheduling of maintenance staff is completed to secure coverage of facilities
Maintenance (ON-CALL 24X7)Perform monthly routine inspections for all on and off-site facilities
Complete a wide variety of maintenance and repairs i.e. carpentry, electrical, plumbing, etc.
Conduct quality control inspections in order to ensure that all Center facilities are maintained properly
Governmental Agency Liaison 10%Act as agency contact for local government agencies and service providers re: maintenance topics:
- Fire departments * Police departments * FPL * Sewage * Waste Management
- DCF (department of children & families)
- DOH (department of health)
- DOT (department of transportation)
Maintain all PM logs (ex. vehicle inspections, fire extinguishers, etc.)
Other Minor Or Occasional TasksPerforms support staff duties as needed in the event of employee absence
Performs all other duties as assigned
