South County Mental Health Center is Hiring a Mental Health Technician (MHT)- Belle Glade ($15/hour) Near Belle, FL
Purpose:To assist professional staff perform those client care activities which will help stabilize the client’s mental condition
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide safe on-site supervision of clients
- Assist clients of daily living (showers, hygiene, and education) and on unit routine
- Individual and group discussion
- Address problem behavior as needed through verbal de-escalation techniques
- Participate in therapeutic recreational activities
- Record all aspects of observations of clients behaviors
- Keep neat, written logs on clients activities
- Assist in complete admission and discharge paperwork
- Attend clinical and staff meetings
- May provide transport to clients as necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned by senior management
- Minimum educational experience in High School Diploma or GED
- Bilingual - Spanish highly desirable
- Demonstrate problem solving skills
- Ability to work with diverse personalities
- High degree of attention to detail, personal initiative and community to quality
- Excellent proven oral and written communication skills
- Must be service-minded with professional appearance and attitude
- Knowledge of 12-step program is preferred
- Active driver’s license and clean driving record
