Dakota State University is seeking applications for a full-time Building Maintenance Specialist - Electrical. The position will report to the Assistant Director of Facilities Trade.
Responsibilities
- Repairing or replacing electrical fixtures.
- Replacing fuses, light bulbs, fluorescent tubes, and ballast.
- Replacing belts, motors, and bearings on appliances and equipment.
- Oversee warranty issues from general construction projects.
- Running conduit and pulling wire.
- Installing new devices included but not limited to panel boards, breakers, conduit, boxes, switches, receptacles, wire, lights, fans.
- Assisting other trades on repair and construction projects.
- Installing or repairing underground wiring.
- Maintenance and testing on emergency lights, exhaust fans, etc.
- Journeyman's electrical license (or ability to obtain one within 6 months).
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to operate required equipment.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to lift 50lbs regularly.
- Ability to maintain a valid driver's license.
- Deal tactfully and work effectively with others.
- Must be comfortable working from heights or lifts.
- Must be comfortable working in confined spaces.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
