Are you committed to enhancing the Greek Life experience and fostering a supportive, thriving community? South Dakota State University (SDSU) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Advisor for Fraternity and Sorority Programs.

In this role, you will provide support and advisement to our Fraternity and Sorority Life community, contributing to the growth and success of our Greek Village and chapter houses.

This position is located in and is a 12-month, full-time, benefits-eligible position. The Department of Student Union & Activities is housed within the division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management.

The division cultivates enrollment, student success and opportunity for all through innovative programs, intentional experiences, exceptional services and premier facilities to enrich student development, promote wellbeing, and foster learning in a vibrant community.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The purpose of this position is to provide support and advisement to the Fraternity and Sorority Life community as well as provide support to a growing and thriving Greek Village (i.

e. chapter houses), meeting the increasing demand of students’ needs in this area. BENEFITS : South Dakota State University offers a wide range of excellent benefits including medical, dental, and flexible benefits, retirement plans, compensation packages, paid holidays, and vacation leave.

We offer a generous retirement plan that includes 6% matching, 10 hours of annual leave each month, 9.34 hours of sick leave each month, and eleven paid holidays.

Relocation benefits are available per university’s guidelines. Employees also have access to internal and state-sponsored training as well as reduced tuition for state-supported courses at all State of South Dakota academic institutions. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communication Studies, Human Development or a related field completed by first day of employment;
  • At least one year of experience with student programming on a college campus;
  • Demonstrated use of technology in the promotion of events; and
  • Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Master’s degree in Student Affairs or Education;
  • Advising experience in the college student affairs setting; and
  • Experience working with chapter and national leadership.
  • Knowledge in developing or leading leadership development training.
  • Involvement with new student orientation programs.
  • Experience managing student organization budgets.
