SOUTH FLORIDA WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT is Hiring a REGULATORY INFORMATION SPECIALIST Near Beach, FL

This position provides technical-specialized support and training to the Regulation Division. Duties include providing support and training for end users and the development of the web-based Permitting Portal modules, SharePoint-based tools and Pega-based RegPermitting, along with the development, generation and maintenance of Division reports.
Primary responsibilities include troubleshooting system issues, providing technical coaching via phone or deskside, responding to questions from staff regarding regulatory permitting processes and its relationship to the Permitting Portal, providing onsite training as directed, and developing/maintaining Division reports.
This may include, but is not limited to: business related support for production and test environments; troubleshooting system issues; coordinating with end users and IT to identify, document and resolve issues; providing end user training; creating and maintaining system process and technical documents; assisting in the development and release of new modules from specification development/testing to training/technical support; assisting with the creation and maintenance of specialized and ad hoc reports; assisting with the development of permit processing procedures; reviewing and analyzing processes to document and suggest refinements; coordinating with Regulatory staff to ensure synchronicity between technical and business operation manuals.
The incumbent must be able to work independently and as a member of a small team, possess the ability to foster a teamwork approach between the various Regulatory Bureaus and IT, as well as foster a smooth working relationship with the regulated community.
The incumbent must possess excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills as duties are performed in a deadline-driven environment and require working with District staff at all levels, the regulated community, the public, as well as federal, state, and local governments.
The incumbent must be familiar with the sorting and merging of database and spreadsheet outputs, the creation of reports and charts, as well as be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Acrobat Pro or Nuance.
Familiarity with Microsoft Power Query and Power BI, Access, Visio, Jaspersoft and SharePoint is preferred, along with a general working knowledge of permitting procedures or specific knowledge of South Florida Water Management District’s regulatory permitting procedures and experience in software testing from a user perspective.
Employment Guidelines:
Typically has Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or related field (Required) and 2 years’ experience of progressively responsible work in support of a regulatory related and/or office/records management function.
License:
Valid State of Florida Driver’s License
Physical Requirements / Working Environment:
Due to the District's response role and in the total scope of emergency management, this position may at times, be required to provide support before, during and after major storm events and emergency situations, such as hurricanes or other declared emergencies, depending on assigned emergency response role.
Sedentary: Mostly in an office environment sitting at a desk and operating a personal computer to produce work products.

The salary offered for this position is $50,003.20 mid - $63,086.40 max.
