Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician with PLC Knowledge

Job Summary:
The Industrial Maintenance Technician with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) Knowledge is responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning of industrial machinery and equipment. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining machinery, with a specific focus on systems controlled by Programmable Logic Controllers. The technician will play a crucial role in minimizing downtime, enhancing equipment reliability, and contributing to overall operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- PLC Maintenance and Programming:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems to identify and rectify malfunctions.
- Develop and modify PLC programs as needed for equipment optimization and process improvement.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement PLC upgrades and enhancements.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on industrial machinery.
- Identify and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of machinery.
- Conduct regular assessments to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Troubleshooting:
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and address issues to minimize production downtime.
- Analyze equipment malfunctions and implement effective solutions to prevent future problems.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance activities, including work performed and parts used.
- Update equipment manuals and document changes made to PLC programs.
- Collaboration:
- Coordinate with production and engineering teams to schedule maintenance activities that minimize disruption to operations.
- Provide technical support and training to production staff on equipment operation and basic troubleshooting.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in root cause analysis to identify opportunities for improving equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Propose and implement upgrades or modifications to enhance the overall performance of industrial systems.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in industrial maintenance, with a focus on PLC-controlled systems.
- In-depth knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers and their programming languages.
- Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and protocols in an industrial setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements:
This role may involve standing for extended periods, lifting heavy objects, and working in various environmental conditions typical of an industrial setting.
