POSITION OVERVIEW

In this pivotal role, you will lead the resort’s revenue, marketing, and sales strategy at South Seas, by overseeing and optimizing revenue performance through comprehensive analytical expertise and strategic collaboration with our sales and marketing teams.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct oversight of the resort sales, marketing, revenue management team members and special events, and other business relations.
  • Coaches’ revenue generating departments on developing effective revenue strategies and selling aggressive goals to drive the property’s financial performance, and cost and margin improvement.
  • Oversee the production and execution of a marketing plan for the resort and ensure marketing efforts are evaluated for their effectiveness in driving revenue.
  • Serves as a passionate brand advocate and ambassador in the guest experience and consumer journey.
  • Develop the annual business plan and oversee execution of tactics.
  • Assign responsibility and quantifiable goals to direct reports and ensure performance aligns with resort strategy.
  • Interface and build relationships with ownership and asset management to highlight current performance and future positioning.
  • Develop tactics using sound revenue management and commercial strategy that increase ancillary (outlet, golf cart rental, recreation (cabanas), golf, and spa) revenues.
  • Oversee retail lease revenue channels to position resort for maximum revenue optimization.
  • Effectively manage and provide oversight on Sales & Marketing pages of the P&L.
  • Prepare revenue forecasting and development of both short term and long-term business strategies.
  • Ensuring accurate annual revenue budgets and monthly forecasts are produced that support revenue goals of the resort and outgrow the competition.
  • Offer leadership, focusing on training and development, of direct reports which may include Sales Manager, Catering Manager, Revenue Manager, Marketing Manager and Reservation Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • 10 years as a resort Director of Sales and Marketing, Director of Revenue Management, or a General Manager in the hotel industry.
  • Relevant experience in revenue and sales management disciplines.
  • Strong organizational management and analytical skills.
  • Innovative thinker that will challenge business processes and concepts to drive results.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to bring people together to work as a team and ensure success.
  • Previous experience with PNSs, CRSs, RMSs, 3rd party sites, rate shopping tools, web booking engines, mobility and reputation dashboards.
  • Intermediate or expert skill level in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products including Excel formatting and reporting along with booking software like TravelClick, iHotelier to name a few.
  • Strong ownership and corporate office relations.
  • Must be comfortable with presenting, public speaking.
  • Monitor the status of the resort throughout the day with inventory controls that need to be modified through the applicable revenue management system(s) and communicate with the strategy team.
  • Serve as key contact for questions regarding system use and/or revenue management principles.

WORKING CONDITIONS – PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work for prolonged periods of time on a computer.
  • Must be able to manage stress related conversations with clients, vendors, and other departments.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, motor vehicle background check will be completed.
