This position is a staff physician for a pulmonary / intensive care trained candidate and involves seeing patients at South Shore Medical Center in the outpatient clinics.

Job Description

Primary Duties as Pulmonologist

• Provide ambulatory care at SSMC for pulmonary patients

• Communicate / interface with other providers including the primary care providers, emergency room, other consultant services regarding the care of patients as it relates to pulmonary disease

• Perform procedures within the specialty including chest drainages, bronchoscopies

• Interpret spirometry and PFTs performed both at SSMC and SSH

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the department including, but not limited to, decreasing clinic wait times and decreasing length of stay and readmissions for pulmonary patients

• Maintain adequate training and CME within this field.

• Participate and contribute to departmental conferences

Requirements:

Appropriate medical school, IM residency and Fellowships in Pulmonary Disease & Critical Care, BC/BE Pulmonary Disease & Critical Care, eligibility for MA medical license
