The South Shore Line is seeking 3 to 4 motivated and dedicated interns to join our Transportation or Engineering Department. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the railroad industry, working both days and nights to support our operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in transportation logistics and engineering, safety protocols, and operational management. The South Shore Line is an equal opportunity employer. Schedule: The anticipated work hours will vary. Special projects, days of exceptionally high passenger volume, weekend events, and operational exigencies may require hours tailored to the particular exigency or project. Travel to Chicago or to professional/industry events may be required.Supervision: The position reports to the Superintendent of Transportation.Salary and Benefits: Salary range is based on experience after consideration of skills and work history.
