Position Summary Information

General Description of Position

Under the general direction and supervision of the Farm Manager, the Part-Time Ag Equipment Operator will be responsible for the safe and effective operation of one or more pieces of agricultural equipment.
This part-time temporary seasonal position is on an as-needed basis, based on communication and coordination with the supervisor. This position pays $20.42 per hour.

Essential Functions

Pre- and post-operation inspection

Fueling

Loading chemicals, seeds, fertilizer, and other agricultural inputs where applicable

Calibration and data collection where applicable

Verification of proper operation during use

Reporting any issues that may arise during use to the supervisor

Marginal Functions

Routine adjustments to equipment for proper operation

Logging fuel usage

General care and proper storage of equipment when the task is completed

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Recent experience in the operation of Ag Equipment types related to the seasonal need

Valid driver’s license for travel to & from the field using SCC vehicles

Ability to lift and carry up to (50) fifty pounds for short distances

The individual must possess the above skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

Minimum Qualifications

High school graduate or GED

Minimum of 1 year of experience operating heavy-duty Ag or Construction equipment

Valid Driver’s License and eligible to qualify for automobile insurance coverage

Desired Qualifications

Nebraska Commercial Applicator certification

Training and/or experience with Precision Agriculture equipment and data collection relating to the seasonal needs

Training and/or experience evaluating crops for selection, timing, and rate of application of agricultural chemicals and other inputs

Salary

$20.42 per hour
