Southeastern Louisiana University Department of Health and Human Sciences, grant program Discovery/Renew Family Resource Projects invites applications for the position of Part-Time Assessment and Communication Coordinator.
The Part-Time Assessment and Communication Coordinator will manage all referrals and related service calls received by Discovery/Renew and determine the appropriate designation for client processing. Under the supervision of the Associate Directors, the relevant assessment tool will be utilized to assess the needs and capabilities of each referral. The Part-Time Assessment and Communication Coordinator will maintain a timely relationship with the referral source, particularly, Department of Children and Family Services case workers, and move the case through as fast as possible, whether it is to one of the Discovery/Renew service provision areas (parenting, domestic violence, perpetrator, Kinship Navigation or My Community Cares [ MCC]) or to address another need. Communication with referral sources will be documented and included in the case assignment to one of the Discovery/Renew workers. Additionally, if a Discovery/Renew worker is experiencing difficulty contacting a client or a referral source, the Part-Time Assessment and Communication Coordinator may assist in resolving the difficulties in a timely manner. The main purpose of this position is to move cases through our intake system as fast as possible to case assignment.
The Part-Time Assessment and Communication Coordinator may require travel in the Baton Rouge Region and Covington Region
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
Must possess a valid driver's license and the ability to successfully complete the Southeastern Driver Safety Course
Must be committed to working with diversity
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to provide social services to families and children
Experience with organizational skills, details, decision-making, and clear communication (phone, written and verbal)
Customer service skills, including excellent written and communication skills, are a major requirement for the job
