Seeking a Certified Medical Assistant at our Guilford Orthopaedics Division to assist physician in the treatment of Orthopedic patients. Must have a AAMA degree and be currently certified as a CMA .

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Stocks exam rooms with expendable supplies as appropriate;
• Checks exam rooms before clinic hours for cleanliness;
• Monitors Chart rack and calls patients back in appointment order escorting patient into exam room;
• Prepares patient for physician services as appropriate;
• Assist physician a with examination and treatment procedures;
• Prepares patients in the exam room for examination;
• Insures that all appropriate instruments and equipment are ready;
• Apply and remove casts, wound cleaning and /or dressing, suture/staple removal, aspirations, and applying splints as directed my physician;
• Reviews physician/physician assistant instructions before directing patient to check-out;
• Cleans exam room in preparation for next patient;
• Monitors medical supplies and reorders, as assigned;
• Receives, verifies accuracy of order, and stocks medical supplies as assigned and submits packing slips to Business Office;
• Perform callbacks from messages as directed by physician;
• Answers telephone call and handles or refers calls;
• Complete pre-authorizations for in-office procedures;
• Performs other duties as assigned;

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Standing for long periods of time;
• Some lifting and moving of patient’s;
• Bending, reaching, pushing and pulling;

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Medical Assistant Certification Required;
• 1 year of relevant experience as a Certified Medical Assistant in a Physician Office and/or Hospital; preferably in an Orthopedic Setting.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
