Mission of the Role:

The ideal candidate for this position will be a critical team member within the organization reporting directly to the Accounting Manager. This position will have extensive involvement in establishing accounting controls and policies to support the Company as it grows. The ideal candidate must have superior organization and communication skills, while maintaining strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment, and should possess excellent knowledge of accounting regulation and procedures, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

This position will participate heavily in the month-end close process for Southern Air, working closely with the locations and Accounting Manger to ensure financial reporting integrity. This position will also provide support to the broader accounting team by assisting with audit assistance, system implementation testing, and other special project work as needed. This position will also be highly involved in the year-end audit process for Southern Air by providing support as requested.

What You Will Do:

• Record transactions daily in our accounting system
• Work efficiently in Microsoft Excel and other programs
• Work closely with other locations to manage Accounts Receivable
• Communicate directly and effectively with decentralized teams and managers
• Accurately perform month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis
• Assist in audits by collecting and providing requested materials and reports
• Identify opportunities for efficiencies and implement streamlined processes
• Execute individual and team goals that support strategic initiatives
• Contribute positively to team culture through teamwork, communication, and collaboration

Knowledge and Experience Requirements:

• Two or more years of accounting experience
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• Ability to communicate accounting and financial information in common and understandable language

Job Details:

Location: Pineville, LA (in-person)

Compensation: $45,000 - $60,000 per year
