Description

Southern Arkansas University Tech (SAU Tech) is seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking, and experienced leader to serve as the Vice Chancellor for Workforce and Career Technical Education. This position will play a crucial role in advancing SAU Tech's mission to provide high-quality technical education and training that meets the needs of the regional workforce, particularly in areas such as aerospace and defense, welding, robotics, cybersecurity, and other high-tech, high-demand fields.

Examples of Duties

Key Responsibilities:
•Leadership and Strategy: Develop and implement strategic initiatives that enhance the quality and relevance of SAU Tech's workforce, career technical education programs and continuing education programs.
•Program Development: Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of innovative and industry-responsive technical education programs.
•Partnerships and Collaboration: Build and maintain strong partnerships with industry leaders, local businesses, advisory boards, community organizations, and K-12 education systems to support workforce development and training initiatives.
•Grant Management: Identify and secure grant funding opportunities to support program growth and training and infrastructure development.
•Faculty and Staff Development: Provide leadership, support, and professional development opportunities for faculty and staff within the workforce and career technical education division.
•Student Success: Implement and monitor strategies to enhance student recruitment, retention, and completion rates, ensuring students are well-prepared for high-demand careers.
•Compliance and Accreditation: Ensure all programs meet state and federal regulatory requirements and maintain appropriate accreditation standards.
•Budget Management: Develop and manage the division's budget, ensuring efficient use of resources to achieve strategic goals
Minimum/Preferred Qualifications
•Education: A Master's degree in Workforce Development, Education, Career and Technical Education, or a related field is required.
•Experience: A minimum of five years of experience in workforce development or career technical education, preferably within a higher education setting. Additionally, candidates must have at least three years of management experience.

•Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
•Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain partnerships with industry and community stakeholders.
•Experience with grant writing and management.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•Excellent computer skills
•Strong commitment to student success.
