Position SummaryManages Health Information Services involving release of information, medical

Job RolesSafety
- Manages processes effectively in regard to employee safety.
- Maintains all required records, reports, statistics, logs, files and other

Department Management
- Maintains accountability for department, making independent decisions to
- Delegates authority and accountability to staff to ensure optimal outcomes
- Evaluates effectiveness of unit/department based programs and processes to

- Promotes a culture of process improvement by establishing unit/department
- Actively participates on system-wide or hospital-based teams.
- Manages the unit/department effectively in regards to staffing and staff
Role Specific Responsibilities
- Collaborates with HI Corporate Director and hospital leadership in
- Assist the Privacy Officer and/or act on privacy related matters in according to
- Collaborates with SIH HI leadership and hospital leadership in health information
- Manages and supervises the day-to-day operations of the SIH the health
- Release of Information functions in response to request of medical records

- Document Management and Chart Analysis functions to assure a
- Monitoring, managing and communicating provider documentation needs.
- Birth Certificate intake and completion process.
- Reporting required statistics and data to state registries. Performs ongoing
action as required to meet the standards.
- Performs HIPAA audits, investigations, and training.
- Required associate degree in Health Information Technology
- Preferred bachelor’s degree in health information management or healthcare
Licenses and Certification
- RHIA or RHIT preferred
- 3 years Technical experience
