Serves a resource for Security staff on duty when Security Manager is not present. Oversees day to day Security department operations as directed by System Security Manager.

Assists System Security Manager with department management as required.

Responsibilities

Role Specific Responsibilities

• Supervises Security employees; coordinates staff hiring, status changes, counseling, and performance evaluations.
• Understands and applies SIH policies and procedures to daily work and to staff management.
• Maintains daily work schedule and payroll processing.
• Evaluates and approves invoices for payment.
• Reviews and approves requests for keys for assigned facilities.
• Coordinates with Security System Analyst to implement security system additions or alterations; consults with System Security Manager as required.
• Maintains the Lean Daily Management process for the department.
• Provides safety and security consultation services as required or assigned.
• Develops and provides EOC and other reports as assigned.
• Participates in Environment of Care Committee.
• Represents Security at meetings or events as assigned.
• Collaborates with Support Staff to maintain databases and records.
• Communicates issues to System Security Manager as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

High School graduate or equivalent

Licenses and Certification

• Valid Illinois drivers license
• Certified Trainer, Essentials of Aggression Management (EOAM)
• Certified Trainer, Taser use and policy
• Maintains Supervisor certification by International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety

Experience and Skills

• Basic computer skills
• Read and write detailed reports
• Able to respond calmly and operate efficiently to emergency and critical confrontations
• Professional and courteous when dealing with staff and public of all age groups
• Maintain a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality
