Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical coding and billing processes to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement for services provided.

Duties:

- Review and verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies
- Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe
- Update accounts receivable with new accounts or missed payments
- Utilize medical collection techniques to keep accounts receivable current
- Investigate and appeal denied claims
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim denials or underpayments

Qualifications:

- Proficiency in medical billing systems and software
- Knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG, and medical coding principles
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures
- Previous experience in a medical office setting preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
