DescriptionBARGAINING UNIT: MSEA Support Services, Range 12
STATUS: Full time, Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm
STARTING SALARY RANGE: $ 18.63 - $20.88

DESCRIPTION: This is a student services and cashier position requiring the ability to calmly and confidently analyze and explain the student's account, payment options and programs, as well as resolve all types of questions and concerns from students, staff and external parties. Responsibilities include the handling of payments and the application of receipts to the student and business accounts as well as invoicing outside parties, posting data, and keeping accounting records for specific accounting functions as delegated.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Strong customer service and computer skills are required due to the high volume interaction with students, outside parties, and staff in person, via email and telephone.
The successful candidate will be a detailed oriented person with
- Ability to interact successfully with students, administration, faculty and staff
- Ability to provide clear and accurate explanations via email or verbally
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices
- Ability to make rapid, accurate mathematical computations and answer "what-if" questions
- Ability to analyze and make sound decisions with limited direct supervision
- Ability to conduct sensitive conversations while exhibiting calm, diplomatic demeanor
- Ability to follow procedures, keep money and data secure and enforce payment policies
- Flexibility to shift projects and adapt to new programs and initiatives as they arise
