Job Title: Financial Analyst Location: National Capital Region / Remote as Mission Requires Security Clearance Required: Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility Job Brief: We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Financial Analyst to join our Innovation & Emerging Technology Division. The ideal candidate will provide accurate and data-based information on our division's profitability, solvency, stability, and liquidity. You will research and analyze financial information to support well-informed decisions, contribute to reports, and monitor financial movements. Responsibilities:
Consolidate and analyze financial data, considering the division's goals and financial standing.
Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance.
Assemble and summarize data to structure sophisticated reports on financial status and risks.
Develop financial models, conduct benchmarking, and process analysis.
Conduct business studies on past, future, and comparative performance, and develop forecast models.
Identify trends, advise the division, and recommend actions based on sound analysis.
Track and determine financial status by analyzing actual results in comparison with forecasts.
Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data.
Consult with management to guide and influence long-term and strategic decision-making.
Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the division.
Job Duties:
Maintain and create databases of financial information pertinent to the division.
Develop reports for various departments on sales and accounting performance.
Collect data on departmental performance and generate quarterly reviews with feedback on optimizing progress.
Attend quarterly meetings with executive leadership to discuss budget progress and projections.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Proven working experience as a Financial Analyst.
Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office, and financial software applications.
Hands-on experience with statistical analysis and statistical packages.
Outstanding presentation, reporting, and communication skills.
Proven knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance, and information analysis.
Well informed in current financial subjects, accounting, tax laws, money market, and business environments.
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the technology or innovation sector.
Advanced degree or professional certifications such as CFA or CPA.
Years of Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is preferred.
