Location: Tucker Operating HQs OR Atlanta Distribution Area
Territory Covered: Successful Candidate/s must live within commutable distance to the OPHQ.
Please note that this job/s will require 25% travel.

Job SummaryThe Distribution Supervisor/s will report directly to the Distribution Operations Manager (DOM), Distribution Manager or Construction Field Manager. Each Distribution Supervisor will have 12 covered personnel reporting to them.

Core Responsibilities Of The Position Include
  • Lead the team in a Safety Excellence environment with a focus on learning, ensuring critical risk plans are followed, and ensuring our STEP observation tools are implemented.
  • Strengthen a culture within the team that is inclusive, builds trust and is continuously improving. This includes ownership of our Diversity and Inclusion efforts. This includes inclusive leadership in continuing to advance our Southern Company “Moving to Equity” plans.
  • Optimize team makeup including teaming up when needed, capital efficiency, covered employee training and development.
  • Ensure consistent approach to replace versus repair business decisions, contactor utilization and fatigue management.
  • Enhance customer experience with boundaryless resource allocation & implementing strategic scheduling/collaboration with the engineering department.
  • Provide employees with regular, constructive performance feedback and support them in their personal development.
  • Partner with engineering supervisors or team leaders to help develop engineers in the Atlanta Distribution Area.
Additional duties include: Partnering with external affairs representatives, distribution supervisors, trouble supervisors, distribution/ network, TMC supervisors, engineering supervisors, & engineering team leaders to ensure customer satisfaction, quality of construction and responsiveness are met for all internal & external customers. The position/s will be tasked with developing innovative methods to improve processes, drive efficiencies/productivity and implement/execute the company strategy.
Education
  • High School Diploma/Equivalent; college degree is a plus
Experience Requirements
  • Seven years of distribution construction and/or distribution experience and knowledge of the construction, maintenance, and restoration of both overhead and underground services.
  • Extensive Storm Restoration Experience required.
  • Knowledge of and experience implementing Section "0", Smith Driving System, NESC, Distribution Bulletins, DOPs, Tagging and Switching Procedures, Distribution Construction Standards, DOT requirements, environmental guidelines, and applicable OSHA regulations.
  • Working knowledge of Memorandum of Agreement, Customer Service Standards, Corporate Compliance Policies and the Code of Ethics.
  • Performance management experience and/or insightful understanding of the process of setting clear expectations and holding others accountable.
  • Demonstrated experience or ability to quickly learn applications that include but are not limited to: ARMS, ARCOS TCMS Web, Dist View, JETS, MOBI, Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).

RequiredThis position has been identified as a role that will require the use of a Georgia Power fleet vehicle. The following will be required if you are selected for this position:
  • Must have at least one year of verifiable driving experience (Must hold a valid driver’s license for the class vehicle to be operated. Driving permits are not typically considered a valid driver’s license).
  • Must have no revocation of driving privileges within the 36 months prior to application, no convictions of major traffic violations (DUI, hit and run, reckless driving, etc.) within the 12 months prior to application, or any pending charges for a major traffic violation at the time of application.
  • Must consent to a continuous monitoring of your Motor Vehicle Record
