What you will get to do

The Business Analyst is responsible for supporting the PMO by analyzing and documenting business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and ensuring alignment with federal regulations and standards. This role involves collaborating with project managers and stakeholders to gather and validate requirements, developing detailed project documentation, and utilizing data to create reports and dashboards that track project performance and compliance. The Business Analyst also assists in the implementation of project management methodologies and tools, facilitates communication across teams, and contributes to the successful delivery of projects by providing insights and recommendations based on thorough analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support requirement gathering efforts and produce business requirements, processes, and system specifications documentation. Ensure that all documentation is clear, accurate, and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
  • Contribute to project planning and execution, including defining scope, setting objectives, and managing timelines. Collaborate with project managers to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Work collaboratively with various stakeholders on deliverables and work products needed by the program, handle knowledge management, data analysis, and strategic program planning.
  • Evaluate and document business processes, workflows, and systems to identify areas for improvement. Develop and propose solutions to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Apply knowledge of federal government regulations and compliance requirements to ensure projects and processes adhere to applicable standards and guidelines.
  • Draft and develop high quality and error-free artifacts and documentations, such as standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical system maintenance notices, and quick technical reference guides.
  • Lead and coordinate communications with various stakeholders to gain their input and concurrence on deliverables and work products.
  • Ability to gather, organize, and communicate disintegrated information/data into a cohesive, concise, and meaningful work product.
  • Proactively listen to gather and recommend potential communications from other team members.
  • Ability to develop communication, potentially in multiple formats, that are formatted and written appropriate to internal or external audiences.
  • Ability to develop and manage a communications schedule and accurately track status of deliverables.
  • Work on-site at the client site three times a week in Washington DC (hybrid position)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of government consulting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst
  • Resourceful to research information needed to deliver the required work products.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • Proficiency in business analysis tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Visio, Tableau).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Google suite of products and Smartsheets
  • Experience with technical writing
