SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES

SouthState Bank originates and sells residential mortgage loans into the secondary market. This position requires the individual to become familiar with all operational and functional aspects of the Secondary Marketing Department. This will include report preparation, rate distribution, registering loans, reconciling data, shipping and delivery of whole loans and mortgage-backed securities into the secondary market. The individual will also prepare and assist in special projects dictated by the demands of the department.This position will be based at our Charleston, SC Support Center and the work schedule is Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Become proficient in use of South State Bank's loan origination, loan delivery and servicing systems.
  • Become proficient in pricing, registering and reconciling rate locks. Acquire working knowledge of the bond and mortgage markets. Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Become familiar with all aspects of shipping and delivering loans into the secondary market. Responsible for timely and successful delivery of loans to agencies and investors that fully comply with their guidelines.
  • Stays current on delivery requirements for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae, Housing agencies and private investors.
  • Become familiar with secondary marketing products. This will include learning product parameters, and investor requirements for originating, underwriting, and closing to assist in accurately shipping and delivery of these products.
  • Prepare special projects and reports as needed. All other duties that may be deemed necessary within the department.
  • Effective communication skills in transmitting ideas and information. This is required through all means of communication; verbally, written and electronically.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, organize, and utilize time in preparing reports, projects and special assignments with minimal supervision.

Qualifications, Education, and Certification Requirements

  • Education: College Degree is preferred. Business Administration degree a plus
  • Experience: Secondary Marketing or loan delivery experience required. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access)

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/CLASSES

Required annual compliance training, New Employee Orientation

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, and reports. This position requires a large amount of time in front of a computer. This can be done sitting or standing with use of the right desk.
