Summary/ObjectivesOrganizes, provides support, and executes special projects for Loan Operations to include data/documentation clean-up efforts, process improvements, and loan level remediations. Serve as a subject matter expert in system specs and configuration. Utilizing advanced skills to serve as a primary tester for system upgrades and releases. Maintain a working knowledge of all Loan Operations processes to aid in researching and resolving complex issues.
Essential Functions
  • Serves as subject matter expert on the Fiserv system for loans and for all requests that require changes to Fiserv loan parameters and/or data. .
  • Partners with IT and Loan Operations Leadership team to ensure proper testing, documenting, and implementing of all Fiserv releases and enhancements. This includes discussing testing timeframe and needs with the team, providing the test cases for regression and enhancements, maintaining availability for assistance while the teams are executing the scripts, reporting of errors, bringing errors to resolution, effectively communicating status updates throughout the testing period and implementation, ensuring all testing documentation is accurate, complete, and stored for audit purposes, etc.
  • Participates any conversion related activities. This will include data collection, process discussions, data mapping, testing phases, production conversion, post-conversion monitoring, etc.
  • Create ADHOC Reporting for loan level data as needed.
  • Participates in data/documentation clean-up efforts, process improvements, and loan level remediations with a high focus on risk mitigation.
  • Work with the Loan Team to utilize advanced knowledge of systems and processes for testing system upgrades and releases.
  • Review and maintain various departmental reports to identify trends or areas of concern.
  • Approach projects and tasks with the mindset needed to recognize opportunities for process improvements that will create efficiencies and elevate the level of service provided.
  • Partner with managers and teams in writing and reviewing procedures.
  • Follows departmental policies and procedures pertaining to problem resolution to ensure the area is following bank guidelines including Federal and State regulations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and train employees; identify cross-training opportunities within each area.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and regulations.
  • Responsible for organizational integrity and business ethics as it relates to this position.
  • Responds timely to all inquiries from lenders and other bank personnel.
  • Actively engages in personal development by identifying and pursuing resources needed to improve performance.
  • Ensures compliance of South State Codes of Conduct, HR Guides, and other operating policies and procedures. Completes compliance training, adheres to all regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other related job duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications, Education, And Certification Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Loan Operations role is required. Must have in depth experience with loan documentation and loan servicing functions for consumer, commercial and mortgage loans. Experience with Fiserv Premier Systems (including Navigator and Director) is preferred.
  • Certifications/Specific Knowledge: Understanding of accounting and lending principles and knowledge of project management. An in-depth knowledge of Federal and State servicing regulations and Bank policies related to servicing procedures is required. Proficiencies in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio

PHYSICAL DEMANDSThis position requires a large amount of time in front of a computer. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Must be able to effectively access and interpret information via various computer systems, documents, and reports.
WORK ENVIRONMENTThis position is located in the office in a cubicle environment; however, when working remotely must have a secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions. Must also have a reliable, private internet connection that is not supplied by use of cellular data (hot spot). Cable or fiber connections are preferred. Requirements are subject to change, as new systems and technology is delivered. Travel may be required for training, meetings, etc. as needed.
