We are seeking a Yard Assistant to join our Chula Vista location. This would be a dual role position that would also eventually be trained as a Store Clerk duties such as cash handling, sales transactions and front store responsibilities, etc. Essential Job Functions
- Meet & Greet customers
- Assist customers with product selection and sales
- Load customer vehicles, checking for accuracy
- Weigh trucks when needed
- Coordinate yard upkeep with yard foreman
- Ensure proper tagging, weighing, and storage of products
- Ensure scales and yard areas are clean of debris
- Maintain tool cleanliness and product organization/visibility in yard
- Operate equipment as needed using checklist and safety measures
- Assist Drivers when needed
- Establish sales leads from customers
- Participate in progressive training on current and new product lines
- Complete product knowledge testing
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Prior forklift experience/certification a plus
- Ability to work rotational weekends
- Operate forklifts
