Southwest Contemporary Women's Care is Hiring a Surgery Coordinator for OB/GYN practice Near Chandler, AZ
We are looking for a Full-time OB/GYN Surgery Coordinator for a busy OB/GYN practice. This position works with physicians, hospitals and out-patient surgery centers to bring together a medical team for surgery. The medical team includes the physician, a first assistant, an anesthesiologist and may include others as well. It also involves insurance benefit verification to ensure that the patient meets medical criteria and the entire team meet insurance requirements. In this position, the patient is guided through the process which includes obtaining medical clearance from primary care physicians and informing the patient of their financial responsibilities. The Surgery Coordinator serves as a point of contact with patients, facilities and clinical personnel and is responsible for maintaining multiple surgeons’ schedules. Responsible for the scheduling of all in office and outpatient surgeries for SWCWC. I nteraction with surgeons, hospital and ambulatory surgery center staff, anesthesiologists, surgical assistants and insurance companies. Pay Range $17 - $20, starting pay dependent on relevant experience. Office Hours: M-Th 7:30am to 5pm, Friday - 7:30am to 2:30 Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
2 years scheduling experience in a medical setting preferably OB/GYN
Medical Assisting Experience preferred
Job Duties Are, But Not Limited To
Obtain insurance benefits and review financial information with patients.
Obtain required prior authorization for procedures.
Prepare surgical orders for submission to hospital and surgery centers.
Ensure all preoperative clearances has been obtained.
Consult with patients to provide information regarding surgical procedures and answer questions prior to surgery.
Schedule all in office, outpatient procedures according to provider and patient availability.
Maintain position as a point of contact between patient, physician and place of service throughout the scheduling process.
Handle sensitive situations with compassion, empathy and professionalism.
Respond to patient calls daily and coordinate findings with physician/provider to ensure quality patient care
