Job description:

This role will help establish a Major Gifts program to build deep and meaningful relationships with donors and prospects for solicitation of significant donations. 

Program details:

The Development team is responsible for raising funds to support programs that would not exist without support from the community. Our team mission is to generate enthusiasm for SWHD’s mission by building deep and meaningful relationships with donors and the community. 

 In this role you will:

  1. Work closely with a skilled and experienced team to build out a new Major Gifts program at Southwest Human Development
  2. Identify, cultivate and solicit new prospects with the capacity to make substantial gifts.
  3. Utilize your time to build relationships with prospective supporters of SWHD.
  4. Develop stewardship plans, events and engagements to recruit and cultivate major gifts.
  5. Utilize our CRM Database for daily tasks tracking and documentation of all interactions.
  6. You will manage a portfolio of not less than 75 donors and prospective donors.
  7. Attend 10-20 in-person visits with prospects each month.

What it takes:

  • Experience as a Major Gift fundraiser
  • Ability to speak passionately, ask questions and discover motivations of people
  • People like you, you like people.
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs
  • Valid Arizona Driver’s License
  • Registered vehicle with valid auto insurance.
  • Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card - OR - must qualify for a valid Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
