Southwest Key Programs is Hiring a Director of Community Services Near Austin, TX
The Director of Community Services is responsible for identifying, coordinating, and facilitating access to a diverse range of community resources that contribute to the holistic services provided to youth. Connect with various stakeholders, assess the needs of the youth, and create a comprehensive network of services encompassing recreational activities, vocational training, social services.
Essential Functions:
Work Environment: This position is primarily in the field engaging directly with youth, team members, and community stakeholders. A fast-paced and dynamic environment with many unscheduled interruptions. Frequent travel is required to reach various locations within our service locations. Frequent computer use at workstations for extended periods of time. Public contact position requiring appropriate business apparel.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborate with team to design and implement initiatives that address specific needs.
- Identify and evaluate community organizations, agencies, and services that align with the organization's mission and vision.
- Create a robust network of resources that contribute to the organization's services.
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify the specific needs and interests of youth.
- Research and establish connections with local community resources, organizations, and businesses offering recreational activities, vocational training, and social services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, local businesses, educational institutions, health care institutions, and other non-profits to expand the array of available resources.
- Design and implement programs that cater to the recreational, vocational, and social needs of youth.
- Ensure programs are inclusive, culturally sensitive, and aligned with the diverse backgrounds of the youth population.
- Establish metrics for program success and regularly evaluate the impact of community services on the youth.
- Adjust programs and initiatives based on feedback and changing community needs.
- Coordinate referrals
- Collaborate with service team on complex cases
- Proactively stay up to date on trends within the social work and community development best practices industry.
- Assist with the development and administration of revenue generation activities, fundraising, business development, and grant applications.
- Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in social work, community development, or a related field or a minimum of three (3) years of experience in community engagement fields.
- Proven experience in community outreach, resource coordination, or youth development.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of local resources and community dynamics.
- Bilingual (Spanish) Preferred
