INVO is seeking a Special Education teacher specializing in ELA and Math for 9th grade charter school students in Philadelphia, PA.

The ideal candidate will provide high-quality instruction tailored to the individual needs of students with disabilities, ensuring their academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Provide direct instruction in English Language Arts and Math to 9th-grade students in both inclusive and self-contained settings.
• Modify and adapt curriculum materials and teaching strategies to meet the needs of students with diverse learning abilities.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
• Assess students' progress regularly and adjust instructional methods and strategies as needed.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students' academic performance and IEP goals.
• Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development opportunities.
• Foster a positive and nurturing classroom environment that promotes student engagement and achievement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification in Special Education.
• Proven experience teaching English Language Arts and Math to high school students, particularly in a special education setting.
• Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Proficiency in using technology to support instruction and student learning.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in an urban school setting.
• Knowledge of differentiated instruction and data-driven decision-making.
• Familiarity with assistive technology and other resources to support students with disabilities.
