Southwest Pediatric Dental is a Practitioner Owned Business in Orland Park, IL 60467. We are fast-paced, fun and rewarding. We are currently expanding both our practice facility as well as our Dental Assisting Team.

Coronal polishing and sealant certificates preferred.

Experience as dental assistant is preferred.

We are looking for enthusiastic dental assistant who will make the office more efficient and pleasant for patients. You’ll ensure excellent customer service and help accommodate administrative and basic dental tasks off the dentist’s workload. Dental assistants should be well-organized with great attention to detail in charting as well as knowledge of patient care. You should be able to follow daily instructions and respect dental office policies currently in place. We want you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and able to make office procedures as smooth as possible for the patient and the rest of the office staff. We are a fast growing office looking to hire assistants that want to expand their experience and knowledge of the dental field.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients in the dental office
  • Prepare patients for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
  • Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed for both exams and treatment appointments
  • Sterilize instruments according to regulations
  • Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
  • Undertake lab tasks as instructed
  • Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
  • Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
  • Schedule appointments
  • Maintain accurate patient records
  • Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
  • Understanding of health & safety regulations.
  • Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing and radiographs.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Enjoying interactions with children.
  • Working together as a team.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Well-organized and reliable.
  • High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred.
  • Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. EFDA)
  • Preferably speak English, Spanish, Arabic, Russian or Polish.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
