Transportation Ride Coordinator

Summary Description:

The Transportation Ride Coordinator schedules rides for eligible clients. This may be done directly with the client, or through a third-party payor. The Transportation Ride Coordinator enter client, payor, and ride information into transportation databases, dispatches drivers for contracted rides, tracks and monitors ride delivery and initiates invoicing when rides are completed. The Transportation Ride Coordinator maintains relationships with partner agencies to monitor and assess demand for ride services, and to match the need for rides with appropriate ride providers.

Examples of Duties:

The below list is intended as key examples of job duties. The list is not to be taken as defining all possible duties.

  • Takes incoming requests for rides, determines eligibility, assess requests to match with appropriate providers.
  • When an accepted ride with SWCAP LIFT, records intake information and communicates ride instructions to the client
  • Schedules LIFT drivers for accepted rides with SWCAP LIFT.
  • Monitors each ride to assure service delivery as scheduled and with any accommodations as agreed.
  • Initiates invoicing to the payor for each ride.
  • Enter ride and client information into the transportation tracking database.
  • Prepare monthly ride reports.
  • Serve as a back-up driver when needed.

Previous Experience Required:

  • Previous work experience with frail elders, people with disabilities, or people with special needs.
  • Previous work experience with client database software.
  • Previous work experience in a customer service setting.

Education Background Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, Associate's Degree preferred.

Required Licenses or Certifications:

  • Valid driver's license with access to insured vehicles.

Other Requirements:

  • Competency with Microsoft Office Suire of software.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to interpret process instructions in a variety of formats.
  • Ability to problem solve within program requirements while satisfying client or payor needs.
  • Ability to bend, squat, stand, stretch and lift weights up to 50 pounds without limitation to secure passengers in vehicles.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 21 – 24 per week
