About Our Accounting Clerk I Role:

Accounting Clerks provide administrative support to our Staff Accountants and the Accounting Department in general.

Accounting/Clerical Responsibilities:

  • Data entry management including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit card reconciliations, and bank reconciliations
  • Reviews statements, invoices, and similar documents for accuracy and alerts supervisory staff of any discrepancies
  • Distributes accounting reports as directed
  • Performs general office duties and administrative tasks such as manually and digitally filing accounting documents, running errands, archiving, word processing, creating spreadsheets using Excel and Smartsheet, and general mathematical, computational, and bookkeeping work for the Accounting Department
  • Collects and compiles accounting data and information
  • Enters data into accounting databases and software programs, such as Sage 300
  • Maintains accurate records of accounting documentation and transactions

Other Duties:

  • Reads and analyzes incoming memos, submissions, emails, correspondence, and reports in order to determine their significance and plan their distribution
  • Prepares responses to correspondence containing routine inquiries
  • May assist with mail distribution, answering telephones, and other clerical tasks as needed
  • Performs all duties with a high level of confidentiality, integrity, discretion, and judgment
  • Performs other tasks as deemed necessary or directed by management

Some of the Things We’re Looking For:

  • Preferably at least one year of clerical and/or accounting administration experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 products, utilizing a PC, mobile devices, and company communication tools (e.g., email, internet, chat, etc.)

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with overtime as required

Physical Requirements:

  • The ability to remain in a stationary position, often sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Manual dexterity needed to operate a computer and other office equipment.
  • Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily based in an office setting with a controlled climate.
