Position: Human Resources Specialist
Reports to: Human Resources Manager
General Job Description:
The HR Specialist is responsible for meeting hiring goals by filling open positions with talented and qualified candidates. Is responsible for the full life cycle of the recruiting and onboarding processes. This entails sourcing and screening candidates, coordinating the interview process, and facilitating offers and employment negotiations, all while ensuring candidates have a pleasant experience. Setting up company policies and maintaining updated employee records. Ultimately, you will foster a healthy workplace by ensuring our HR procedures run smoothly at all times.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Including but not limited to:
Identifying future hiring needs and developing job descriptions and specifications.
Attracting suitable candidates through databases, online employment forums, social media, etc.
Conducting interviews and sorting through applicants to fill open positions.
Assessing applicants' knowledge, skills, and experience to best suit open positions.
Completing paperwork for new hires.
Promoting the company's reputation and attractiveness as a good employment opportunity.
Managing volunteer and internship programs.
Managing substitute covering in all schools.
Managing uniform orders and distribution.
Providing recruitment reports to the team manager.
Perform reference checks as need
Manage onboarding and new hire process
Ensure all screening, hiring, and selection is done in accordance with employment laws and regulations
Familiar with a wide variety of sourcing avenues
Implement training and development plans
Coordinate and execute HR onboarding training and orientation with Academic Coordinator and Training Coordinator
Inform employees about additional benefits they’re eligible for (e.g extra vacation days)
Update employee records with new hire information and/or changes in employment status
Forecast hiring needs and ensure recruitment process runs smoothly
Develop and implement HR policies throughout the organization
Process employees’ queries and respond in a timely manner
Stay up-to-date and comply with changes in labor legislation
Assisting and guiding employees with the process of the following procedures: TEACH scholarship, Criminal Background Check through DCDEE WORKS (state certification), IEE (education validation), NC Early Educator Certification, Durham Tech/ Wake Tech enrollment, etc.
Assisting school Directors inspecting employee’s files when needed with HR Manager approval
Assisting HR Manager in all required tasks
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
HR Certification or Diploma
2 years of recruiting experience preferred
Bilingual (English and Spanish)
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Demonstrated ability to establish effective and cooperative working relationships built on trust
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Working knowledge of applicant tracking
Ability to manage a wide range of relationships with a variety of stakeholders
Proficient in Microsoft Office and google drive
Working knowledge of interview techniques and applicant screening methods
Deep understanding of employment laws and regulations
Familiarity with full cycle recruiting
Good problem-solving abilities

Occasionally climb or swing, bend over, kneel and /or crawl.
Occasionally raise and/or climb up to 50 pounds.
Occasionally pick up and load children for diaper changes or to meet some of their needs.
The specific vision skills required by this work include near vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Continuous exposure to computers
Occasionally jumping, dancing and continuous movement with the kids.

Work is typically performed in a school environment and outdoors. Incumbent may be exposed
to weather conditions while performing some duties outdoors.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather
conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
