Job DescriptionCivil Roadway Engineer I – Transportation Infrastructure – Ontario, California ( hybrid remote work allowed) OverviewParsons has an exciting job opportunity for a Civil Roadway Engineer I to join the growing transportation infrastructure team at our Ontario, California office.In this role, you will be engaged in design engineering work and contribute to the successful project delivery for a diverse range of projects in the Greater Los Angeles and Southern California region. The engineer at this level is in a developmental mode, being trained under close supervision in the utilization of engineering theories and practices while gaining exposure to company and industry procedures. You will be part of a team which primarily supports Caltrans projects and works on various projects with the regional transportation planning agencies, counties, cities, and transit agencies. The position is office based but offers a hybrid work model ( 3 days working from home).Responsibilities
- Utilizing a foundation of gained experience , will perform various roadway engineering and design assignments requiring the application of engineering techniques, procedures and design criteria for projects ranging in size and complexity.
- Utilize drafting and 3D modeling software, tools, and programs, to develop conceptual and detailed designs. Proficient design work with Microstation and/ or Autocad Civil 3D
- Perform design calculations including material quantity takeoffs and construction cost estimates.
- Assist in the production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans and specifications for assigned projects.
- Assist in the preparation of detailed requisitions for material purchase, services, and subcontracts.
- Assist in reviewing supplier drawing submittals and technical bid analyses.
- Provide input to CAD Designer/Drafters working on the same project.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
- 3 years or more of related work experience supporting any state DOT
Experience with Caltrans projects in the State of California is desirable, but not required
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate is preferred
- Proficiency in utilizing AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation Geopak and/or InRoads, is preferred.
- The ability to communicate and effectively participate as part of an engineering team.

Salary Range$61,200.00 - $107,100.00
