Spartan Capital Group has partnered with a large client in the manufacturing industry located in the Detroit Metropolitan Area. This is an onsite position paying up to $125k commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Management:
• Oversee all accounting operations, including billing, A/R, A/P, GL, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition.
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
• Internal Controls:
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other applicable financial regulations.
• Budgeting and Forecasting:
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting process.
• Provide detailed analysis and reports on financial performance, including variance analysis and key financial metrics.
• Audit and Compliance:
• Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Team Leadership:
• Supervise and manage the accounting team, including hiring, training, and development.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting professional growth within the team.
• Financial Strategy:
• Collaborate with the CFO to develop financial strategies and long-term financial planning.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications:

• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
• Experience in public accounting or working in a corporate environment preferred.
