Spearfish Holiday Inn/Lucky's 13 Pub is Hiring a Director of Engineering Near Spearfish, SD

Join our FUN team at the Spearfish Holiday Inn! The Director of Engineering will oversee and coordinate all operational aspects of the facility to ensure property maintenance is in compliance with exceptional guest experiences and efficient business operations are in place. This role is responsible for supporting the operational plans and procedures to ensure the highest standards of property upkeep, safety, efficiency, sustainability, cost effectiveness, and guest satisfaction are met. This will involve collaborating with various departments on a maintenance level to develop and implement best practices, drive new policies, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and maintain regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountability:
  • Ensure all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with the organization’s policies and objectives.
  • Monitor the performance of the maintenance/engineering team to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for the work performed.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Team Management:
  • Lead and mentor maintenance/enginerring team, providing direction, motivation, and support to ensure project goals are met.
  • Allocate resources effectively, including the assignment of tasks, responsibilities, and deadlines.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, identify skills gaps, and implement training programs to enhance team capabilities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
  • Team Building:
  • Build a cohesive and high-performing team through effective recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies.
  • Encourage collaboration and communication among team members to promote a positive and productive work environment.
  • Organize team-building activities and events to strengthen team cohesion and morale.
  • Resolve conflicts within the team efficiently and constructively to maintain a harmonious working environment.
  • Strategic Planning and Execution:
  • Collaborate with management to define strategies and goals aligned with the company’s vision.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of long-term projects and initiatives.
  • Management:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for engineering-related matters, liaising with other departments, and clients.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including negotiation and performance evaluation.
  • Risk Management:
  • Identify potential risks and develop strategies to ensure the successful delivery of engineering projects.
  • Implement robust health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to protect team members and minimize risks

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience of progressive leadership in facility operations and maintenance, with at least 2 years in a leadership role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement operational strategies with a strong financial acumen and proven ability to drive results.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Proven track record of managing capital expenditure projects, including budgeting and execution.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with customer-centric mindset.
  • Proficiency in property management systems, management tools and software programs.
  • Ability to thrive and provide sustainability in a dynamic environment and lead by example with integrity, resilience, and professionalism.

Pay range $45,000 - $55,000 Depends On Experience
