About The Role

The Director of Global Supply Chain is a high-caliber leadership role designed for a strategic thinker with the capability to execute effectively on operational strategies. This individual reports to the Vice President of Operations and will lead all SFE’s supply chain functions with a focus on developing robust supplier relationships both domestic and international, leading company make versus buy and point of manufacture processes, implementing comprehensive supplier scorecards, managing on-time delivery metrics, and spearheading new product launches with a keen eye on supply chain optimization. This role extends to overseeing demand and supply planning and crafting inventory strategies to enhance return on invested capital while ensuring the supply chain's alignment with the company's strategic objectives. The Director of Global Supply Chain will be instrumental in propelling SFE towards operational excellence, requiring a blend of visionary leadership and practical, hands-on execution skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing strategic leadership and direction to supply chain teams at each applicable SFE site, aligning supply chain efforts with company goals and objectives.
• Craft and execute a forward-looking global sourcing strategy that supports the company's growth agenda, emphasizing cost reduction, quality improvement, and supply base optimization.
• Specific focus on driving global sourcing initiatives that balance cost savings, availability, quality, and risk mitigation to most effectively meet SFE operational and customer needs.
• Building and maintaining strategic partnerships with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure reliable and cost-effective sourcing of materials, components, and services.
• Leading companywide demand forecasting and inventory management efforts to optimize inventory levels, reduce lead times, and meet customer delivery requirements.
• Collaborate with senior management to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and establish targets for supply chain performance.
• Monitor industry trends, technology advancements, and market dynamics to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
• Develop plans to mitigate geopolitical, economic, and environmental factors that may impact supply chain operations.
• Establish business continuity plans to ensure resilience in the face of unforeseen events.
• Implement a continuous improvement program for suppliers, involving regular reviews, performance feedback, and collaborative initiatives to drive enhancements in cost, quality, delivery, efficiency, and sustainability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree (MBA Supply Chain emphasis) preferred.
• 15 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with a proven track record of delivering results, with 10 years in leading teams.
• Demonstrated expertise in developing and executing global sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and optimizing supply chain functions for multi-site geographically dispersed operations.
• Strong technical expertise in supply chain management principles, including procurement, production planning, inventory management, logistics, and distribution.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex supply chain issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience with mergers and acquisitions in the areas of due diligence, analysis, and integration is highly preferred.
