Our office, Westchester Implant and Oral Surgery, is seeking a talented and skilled Lead Surgical Assistant to help us accomplish our mission to improve the lives of our patients by providing a world-class specialty experience for every patient. Your Responsibilities 

You will ensure excellent patient service and lift administrative and basic surgical tasks off the Doctor’s shoulders. You will be focused on ensuring that the patients' needs, concerns, and questions are answered. You will help keep the patient relaxed and comfortable during their visit, being the patients go to resource during their visit which includes the following: 

• Managing and overseeing the schedule for other Surgical Assistants, ensuring coverage and operational efficiency.
• Leading a team of Surgical Assistants to deliver exceptional patient service and clinical support.
• Coordinating administrative duties and delegating basic dental tasks effectively.
• Assisting with implant procedures by preparing surgical areas, instruments, and equipment, and providing assistance to the surgeon during procedures.
• Ensuring patient needs, concerns, and questions are promptly addressed.
• Monitoring patient vitals and ensuring comfort and safety throughout procedures.
• Providing post-operative instructions and materials to patients.
• Managing inventory and ordering supplies as required.
• Collaborating with the surgeon and office manager to optimize practice efficiency. 

Additional Responsibilities:

In addition to clinical responsibilities, you will take on a leadership role by managing the schedule for other Surgical Assistants, fostering teamwork, and promoting a positive work environment.

Your Background 

You are a resourceful Surgical Assistant who loves helping patients receive the experience they deserve and helping the Dentist to provide it. You're excited by the prospect of a patient leaving your office in a healthier, stronger, and more comfortable / happier being, each and every day. You’re a kind, passionate and collaborative problem-solver who is able to proactively adjust to shifting priorities and values the chance to make an important impact.

You also have the following: 

• At least 5-6 years of experience in oral surgery
• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods 
• Understanding of health & safety regulations 
• Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks 
• Good computer skills 
• Excellent communication and people skills 
• A strong attention to detail 
• Well-organized and reliable 
• A high school diploma
