SPECTRAFORCE is Hiring a Maintenance Mechanic Near North Chicago, IL

Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Duration: 06 months
Location: North Chicago, IL, 60064
Shift timing: 12 hours day shift, 4on 4 off (6am – 630pm)To provide multi craft, skilled maintenance support to Client’s Lake County Facility, Utility, Manufacturing and R & D assets.
Roles And Responsibilities
  • Adhere to Client’s code of conduct and safety policies
  • Assists in root cause investigation and reliability centered maintenance analysis
  • Capable of training others on tasks
  • Intermediate Computer skills (MS Office)
  • Fully proficient in their core function, performing advanced level tasks
  • Assist Cross functional Teams outside of the maintenance organization
  • Supports continuous improvement projects and safety initiatives within the maintenance organization and/or the site
  • Understands and follows all safety and GMP regulations
  • Maintains the function of department assets to ensure production goals and quality standards are met
  • Independently performs senior level maintenance work including but not limited to; machine lubrication, inspection, troubleshooting, ordering & installation of parts repair and fabrication
  • Performs Preventative Maintenance on all plant equipment including air handlers, utility distribution equipment located throughout the plant. Will perform precise maintenance where applicable
  • Performs light machining work on machine lathes and milling machines, etc. to make basic shafts and cut keyways, etc.
  • Work as a multi-skilled tradesperson, doing electrical, pipefitting, building maintenance and/or other work on special assignments as requested by management
  • Assists/participates during Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) analysis
  • Accurately documents all maintenance activity in CMMS
  • Assists in ensuring that GXP and safe work policies and procedures are follow and maintained at all times in accordance with established company policies.
  • Lifting up to 50lbs
Years Of Experience/education And/or Certifications Required
  • Associates degree, college certificate, or formal apprenticeship and 5 years of work experience related to any of the following: mechanical trades, electrical up to 13kv, PLC/Controls, Instrumentation, welding, machining, fabrication.

  • Must demonstrate proficiency in multiple skilled trade disciplines as defined by the department skills matrix including Predictive Maintenance Technologies
  • Knowledge and ability to apply proper hand tools in an industrial setting
  • Knowledge of related cGMP requirement and applicable safety regulations
  • Knowledge and ability to use power tools (such as electric drills, drill press, saws, grinders, pneumatic and hydraulic tools)
  • Ability to accurately use measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, scales)
  • Intermediate computer skills (MS Suite)
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills

  • Chemical Process plant (depends on building location they are in.
