We arehiring an Assembler II that assembles and repairs commercial grade multi-section components using hand tools, mechanical equipment and standard processes and procedures. The person that fills this role will work 2nd shift (2 PM-Midnight).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•Prepare assembly area: Determine materials and machinery by reading work orders, following production drawings and/or receiving verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed. Verify parts by comparing provided part with part description in work documentation.
•Prepare tools and equipment: Select hand tools and equipment according to work specification. Set up equipment to run according to work plan.
•Modify and/or enhance part by using a variety of soldering techniques and hand and/or power tools, such as solder block, soldering iron, and various other hand tools.
•Align and join parts such as leads, coils, wires, tabs and terminals to housing, using soldering iron, and hand or power tools.
•Test continuity and connections using ohmmeter or other standard testing equipment.
•Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Production Manager and develops a plan of action to correct the issues. Assist in maintaining quality production standards by repairing defective parts using basic soldering and/or mechanical repair techniques.
•Maintain record of work progress: Record results of job and/or problems with job in work documentation. Verify quantity of lot by hand counting or weigh counting using standard scales.
OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Check for defects utilizing, visual inspection and/or simple go/no-go type gauges.
•Assist in other production areas at the discretion of the Unit Manager or Supervisor.
•To be qualified to solder; training must be accomplished. Records of training and qualification must be maintained as a quality record.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•High School Diploma or GED
•3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•Prior experience with assembly, soldering, blueprint reading and electronic equipment.
•Knowledge of manufacturing, operating and inspection techniques.
•Knowledge of quality control plans.
•Manual dexterity.
•Basic reading and comprehension to understand work documentation.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This is a manufacturing position.
