Job DetailsLevel Experienced Job Location Precision Extrusion - Glens Falls - Glens Falls, NY Salary Range $18.00 - $20.00 Hourly Description Job Summary The primary responsibility of this position is to provide leadership, training, support, and producing core mandrel product for the company, while adhering to all company policies, manufacturing process and SOP. Must also adhere to safety policies, production schedules, and quality within the production lines. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Performing daily operator duties on acetal production lines, also other production lines as needed.
Train all new core/mandrel operators to safety expectations, process work instruction, operating specifications, equipment, and documentation.
Maintain personal training record and oversee training compliance for all direct reports.
Provide daily/weekly production schedules to assigned production lines with direction from scheduling and management.
Ensure all production orders are completed on time. Inform supervisor/manager of risks to the schedule while offering proactive resolutions so that corrective action can be taken.
Ensure all product quality specifications are consistently met and quality focus remains high within production lines.
Ensure that all manufacturing procedures, engineering drawings, and any other controlled documents are followed exactly as written. Provide procedural updates when appropriate to maintain the viability of controlled documents.
Ensure the DPR is accurate & legible for each work order.
Provide proactive input for quality and productivity improvements to internal business partners.
Act in a lead capacity for implementation of Lean manufacturing initiatives and supervise new work cells as necessary for Lean initiatives.
Responsible as subject matter expert on these specific product lines, from both a production output and technical standpoint.
Ensure accurate IQMS computer transactions for all material movements and production hours.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
Provide input to performance reviews and disciplinary actions.
Resolve and disposition nonconformance as assigned.
Communicate with and assist supervisor on material, equipment, maintenance, quality, and engineering needs for production lines.
Promote the importance of a positive working environment and lead by example to maintain high morale level.
Other activities may be assigned as required by management .
Qualifications Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
1 year of on-the-job experience in medical device manufacturer or component manufacturer
Able to maintain accurate records
Able to use, but not limited to, pin gauge, ruler, tape measure and calipers
Hand dexterity is essential, along with good eye-hand coordination is required
Able to work independently or within a team
Physical Demands
Continual lifting up to 50 lbs.
Walking, standing and viewing computer screens for long periods of time.
Ability to use ladders 3’ and higher to access spools and materials.
Work Environment
Manufacturing, clean rooms and warehouse environments
