OPHTHALMIC IMAGING TECHNICIAN

THE OPPORTUNITY AT HAND
We’re looking for passionate and empathetic people to join our team as Ophthalmic Imaging Techs. Our Imaging Techs are responsible for all the testing elements of the patient visit. This includes confirming patient demographic information, performing ophthalmic testing, and ensuring the test is clear and accurate, transferring the test to the appropriate channel, and escorting the patient back to the waiting room or exit. You will develop an advanced understanding of diagnostic testing and equipment. You’ll play a vital role in the patients’ experience with OCLI and in helping our doctors to diagnose and treat eye disorders.
OUR EXPECTATIONS OF YOU
You’ll test and record patients’ visual fields, perform Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), A-scans and manual keratometry, optic nerve photography, corneal topography, slit lamp photography, Endothelial Cell Counts and B-scans
You’ll apply drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes and collect and process specimens for testing
You’ll triage emergency cases appropriately into physicians schedule and maintain patient flow
You’ll prepare patient and procedure room and assist ophthalmologist with procedures as needed
You’ll perform first level maintenance on equipment and notify the office manager of any equipment malfunctions
You will be expected to utilize, as appropriate, infection control techniques and universal precautions, and to maintain confidentiality at all times
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
You’re an excellent communicator – both verbally and written
You’re outgoing, you love the idea of interacting with patients everyday
You’re comfortable providing white glove service and responding quickly to our patients needs
You’re a dependable problem solver – you’re the one people call to keep cool in stressful situations
You have a positive, can-do attitude and work well in collaborative environments
You’re flexible – you roll with the punches and easily accept change
You’re knowledgeable in ocular pharmacology such as anesthetics, steroids, antibiotics, mydriatics and cycloplegics, epinephrine, miotics and non-steroidal anti-inflammatories is a PLUS, but not a requirement
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
