Night Driver

Spee-Dee Delivery is looking for a self-motivated and organized individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. As a Night Driver you would transport freight between branch locations and sort packages in a safe and timely manner.

Hours and Wages:

• Monday- Friday, 5:00PM- completion
• Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
• Starting wage: $20-24 per hour, plus shift differential

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Delivers and picks up freight to transfer between branch locations
• Makes pick-ups at after hour shippers
• Loads and unloads freight by hand carefully from fleet vehicles to avoid damage
• Scans inbound freight for tracking purposes
• Sorts freight by zip code, city, or state
• Complies with all company safety policies and DOT policies
• Notifies management of any problems or discrepancies
• Inspects and reports any mechanical problems with the vehicle
• Maintains professional personal appearance as well as cleanliness of vehicle
• Assists other drivers and operations personnel with duties, as needed

Experience and Qualifications:

• At least 21 years of age and hold a valid Driver's License
• A good driving record which meets company standards
• Ability to operate a manual transmission, or have the willingness to learn
• Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
• Ability to bend, lift, twist, climb stairs, while moving freight on and off company vehicle
• Ability to lift and move freight weighing up to 100 pounds
• Ability to work with all types of freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
• Possess good customer service and can work independently
