Spencer East Brookfield Regional School District wants to add a dynamic, qualified history teacher to our David Prouty Team. We invite you to join us as we prepare our students for life, learning, and citizenship.The high school chemistry teacher will guide the learning process to achieve established district curriculum goals and establish and communicate clear objectives to the students for all lessons, units, and projects.REPORTING STRUCTURE:Reporting to the Building Principal, the High Chemistry Teacher is responsible for creating lesson plans, preparing and delivering lectures, creating and supervising laboratory activities for students, evaluating student performance, maintaining classroom records, meeting with parents, teachers and other professionals and participating in school. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: It is important to:- Collaborate with colleagues to plan well-structured units of instruction aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards.- Design inquiry-based labs.- Create and maintain a classroom environment conducive to high-quality learning and teaching.- Use formative assessment data to adjust practices in service of student achievement.- Assist building level administration in student supervision and enforcing school-wide policies.- Utilize strong two-way communication strategies to involve families in ensuring student success in accessing the curriculum.- Use student learning data to regularly inform and adjust instructional practices.- Be a team player who contributes positively to the school culture and climate.- Be open to receiving feedback from administration to improve instructional practice.- Be willing to perform other duties as assigned by building level administration.
