Job DescriptionGrowing generator sales & service company seeks ambitious self starter to sell in the New Orleans and Baton Rouge territories. Ideal applicant will have at least 5 years exp. in prospecting and cold-calling, effective negotiating and closing skills. Industry knowledge and prior sales background in the generator/ heavy equipment field required. Candidate will be responsible for maintaining existing accounts, developing of new accounts for both sales and service contracts, expansion of product lines, and assisting inside sales as needed. Job Functions
Sells company products and services by cold calling, servicing existing client accounts, and networking in our industry.
Performs professional presentations or demonstrations of company product(s)/service(s) while on site
Penetrates all targeted accounts and radiates sales from within client base
Emphasizes product/service features and benefits, quotes prices, discusses credit terms, and prepares necessary sales reports
Generates and develops new customer accounts to increase revenue, by cold calling if necessary
Achieves opportunity-based sales quotas
Reaches business targets through effective management of designated territories and physical visits to customer sites
Develops new customer accounts to increase revenue
Builds and fosters a network of referrals to create new opportunities for revenue growth
Continually maintains a professional company image
Builds and maintains ongoing awareness of new products and services, competitor activities, and other research
Overcomes objections of prospective customers
Ensures follow up by passing leads on to Inside Sales persons with calls-to-action, dates, complete profile information, sources, and so on
Attends periodic classes, training, and workshops to enhance sales abilities
Takes an active part of company trade shows and seminars
Takes proper care of his or her vehicle to ensure reliability and project a professional image
Job Requirements
5 years of direct work experience in an external sales capacity
Professional demeanor, selling style, and appearance
Solid experience in opportunity qualification, pre-visit planning, call control, account development, and time and territory management
Demonstrated ability to convert prospects and close deals while maintaining established sales quotas
Must possess Generator or Heavy Equipment Sales background
Excellent oral and verbal communication skills
In-person presentational skills
Excellent customer service
Ability to travel with occasional overnight stays
Pre-employment requirements consist of valid Drivers License, clear driving record, and a drug & alcohol analysis.
Base Salary: 90- 100K - plus commissions on sales
New company truck provided along with gas card and credit card for client entertainment and meals
