SPF America, LLC has an immediate opening for a Quality Technician at our Fort Smith, Arkansas location. SPF America, LLC is a precision fabrication/contract manufacturing facility serving OEM markets and has operated in Fort Smith, AR since 1977. In the Quality Technician role, your core hours would be Monday through Thursday, 5:30 am to 4:00 pm.
Position summary: Tests and inspects products at various stages of production. Processes, compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Level 4
Knowledge and understanding of job sheets
Utilize ERP system daily
Understand the difference between tags (red, yellow, green and blue)
Must be able to read and verify dimensions from prints/drawings
Properly use general hand tools for dimensional inspection
Level 3
In-Process Auditing
Basic knowledge of the FabriVISION
First Article Investigation and Capability Studies
First piece sign off for other operations
Knowledge and understanding of NCMD (pink sheets) and CAPA database
Calibration of general hand tools
Properly use all tools for dimensional inspection
Level 2
Creation of Inspection Check Sheets for the FabriVISION
Minor repair of general hand tools
Maintaining Calibration database and ISO documents
Level 1
Proficient in all requirements of Level 2,3, & 4
ISO Internal Auditing
Authorized to train other technicians
Display advanced understanding of prints/requirements to recognize needed
changes or errors

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
An individual must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. One must be able to write routine reports and correspondence and have the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
An individual must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
An individual must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. One must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
