Who are we hiring?The Senior Manager of Audio Systems is responsible for providing comprehensive support to the Director, Audio Systems while effectively supervising audio teams within the event production department. This individual will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of production audio systems, overseeing in-house mixing, mastering, recording, and collaborating with Sphere Studios for the implementation of new shows. Additionally, the Senior Manager will facilitate audio discussions with outside productions and contribute to pre-production meetings to optimize audio planning and execution.
What will you do?
  • Collaborate with the Director, Audio Systems, Sphere Studios, Ventures, and Venue Operations departments to develop and refine standard operating procedures for all venue audio systems.
  • Schedule and manage stagehand audio crew, both union and non-union, ensuring efficient deployment of labor resources for daily audio department operations.
  • Oversee the installation of audio delay cabinets, fills, or localization layers according to event specifications.
  • Supervise the operation of audio systems throughout events and operate as the Technical Manager on Duty as necessary overseeing all production systems during shows.
  • Supervise maintenance and repair of audio equipment, ensuring timely upkeep to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
  • Coordinate with relevant parties to schedule and fulfill Special Events audio needs.
  • Troubleshoot event day issues promptly, demonstrating responsiveness and adaptability in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
  • Oversee the transition from day-of-event activities to equipment load-out for assigned events.
  • Supervise the operation, programming, and maintenance of playback and specialty audio systems.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 60 credit hours of college-level coursework or equivalent self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc.
  • 7 years of experience in audio design, audio tech, and engineering across various mediums including live events, film, television, and themed entertainment.
  • Technical proficiency in production audio-specific technologies such as Ravenna, Dante, AES67, digital audio consoles, Meyer Sound D-Mitri, Q-Sys, Smaart, etc.
  • Experience supervising and working with Union & Non-Union Crews.
  • Strong organizational skills, time management, and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem-solving, reasoning, motivational, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Computer Aided Drafting skills (preferred).
  • Flexible schedule availability, inclusive of weekends, nights, and holidays.
Supervision
  • Indirect supervision of audio technicians, operators, and programmers, ensuring efficient team performance and adherence to established protocols.

Pay Range
$118,000—$165,000 USD
