Spherion Asheville is Hiring a Production Engineer Near Asheville, NC

Job Description

We're seeking a Production Engineer to play a pivotal role in the expansion of our operations. Situated in a brand-new facility, this role offers a unique opportunity for a dynamic engineer to leave their mark. The ideal candidate will demonstrate not only a robust mechanical and manufacturing acumen but also exceptional problem-solving skills and strong interpersonal abilities.

In addition, well-developed interpersonal skills, both written and verbal will be essential. Working as a Production Engineer it is important that you are capable of effectively managing changing priorities, are self-motivated and thrive in an extremely fast paced environment. You must understand lean manufacturing principals, have a high level of mechanical aptitude, be a strong proponent of continuous change and enjoy spending time on the production floor. This is a hands on engineering position.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university (Mechanical or Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering preferred, but other concentrations will be considered for the right candidate)
  • Three to ten years of manufacturing experience required

Responsibilities Include but not Limited to the Following:

  • Be responsible for implementing and maintaining high safety standards
  • Maintain processes and product to established Quality Control standards
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems
  • Ability to propose and implement new processes and process improvements with minimal guidance
  • Project management
  • Provide input and implementation of standard operating procedures
  • Implement lean principles such as takt times, visual management
  • Be a positive change agent for production processes
  • Liaison between design engineering and production
  • Serving as a technical resource to production staff, customers and sales
