Spherion is Hiring a Machining Technician Near South Bend, IN
Machining Technicians set-up and troubleshoot all turning and machining centers, participate with Engineering on pre-planning new products and write offline CNC programs as well as improve existing programs.
Openings Are On2nd Shift - 2:30pm-11pm
Pay is $26-$32/hr, based on experience.
Positions are DIRECT HIRE in a temperature controlled facility!

Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting daily with production supervisor, setup people and operators to assure machines running smooth with capable processes.
- Troubleshooting and maintaining machines, and works with repair contractors and machine manufacturers for proper machine repairs.
- Working as setup on new part to assure parts are setup the way it is planned.
- Working with OEM for training on new equipment purchase and maintenance of existing equipment.
- Analyze quality problems to find root cause and put corrective actions in place.
- Continuous improvement of existing products.
- Reading blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
- Starting and observing machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills
- Ability to use a computer.
- Demonstrates the verbal and written communication skills necessary to complete forms and take messages in a legible, accurate manner.
Experience1-4 years
Qualifications
- 2 years or more experience in the same type of position
- Communicate in English
- Requires physical ability and stamina to perform the essential functions of the position, including the ability to walk, stand, lift, carry up to 50 pounds, push, kneel, bend, stoop, reach over and under waist level, twist for extended periods of time on cement or other hard surfaces, etc.
